#METRO LAST LIGHT PC WITH CONTROLER SERIES#
Some characters in Achromatopsia from the Universe of Metro 2033 book series use the same kind of lighter made out of a large bullet casing. Its design is similar to trench lighters from World War I and II, as well as novelty bullet lighters that can be found in souvenir shops throughout Eastern Europe. Artyom wore the capsule around his neck, like a talisman, for most of his journey to Polis. The bullet design of the lighter might have been inspired by the bullet capsule containing the message to Miller given to Artyom by Hunter in the novel. In Last Light and Redux, all playable characters have a lighter of the same model. The lighter may have been made by Alex or even Hunter as a gift to Artyom, and may be quite common in the Metro as many friendly NPC's have a similar notepad, including Miller who is looking at his at the start of " D6" during the train ride. This makes the lighter far more useful as an actual light source in and of itself. However, it has gained the ability to ward off Spiderbugs this time around, as well as being generally brighter and having a further reaching light. In Metro Exodus, the lighter performs all the same functions as in Last Light, with the exception of acting as an objective marker. Such a process can be useful for burning cobwebs while defending himself, as in the case of when fighting Spiderbugs, though Artyom will un-equip the lighter if he aims down the sights, begins to run, or reloads. This can be remedied by attaching a Laser sight on a weapon. In Metro: Last Light, Artyom can equip a weapon and the lighter at the same time, but at the cost of accuracy. Although the Lighter itself is not enough to scare the spiderbugs off, the player can use it to light up the flammable objects to create a safezone quickly. In addition to the use of compass of Artyom's clipboard, the smoke of the lighter will also always drift in the direction of the nearest objective - giving more immersive, yet less concrete directions to proceed next to. It can obviously be used to light areas if torches are nearby, which is especially useful in areas of the darkness that render Flashlight and Nightvision goggles useless. For one, it's the primary tool to burn through the cobwebs that otherwise slow Artyom down.

In Metro: Last Light, the lighter has a greater number of uses, and can be utilized to the advantage of players much more often.
